We recently settled a case for a very deserving client, and recovered a total of $200,000 for her personal injury case.
The at-fault driver had only $100,000 of insurance coverage. Fortunately, our client had $250,000 of Underinsured Coverage, so we were able to recover an additional $100,000 from her Underinsured Motorist Policy.
Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist Coverage is the most important coverage you can have to protect yourself and your family from other drivers. We encourage you to make sure your auto insurance policy has enough Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist Coverage. If you aren’t sure, take a look at your policy declarations, talk to your agent, or reach out to us and we can help explain what your policy declarations mean. While circumstances may vary, I generally suggest to friends and family that they should try to carry at least $250,000/$500,000 of Uninsured and Underinsured Coverage, because in my practice I see how quickly medical bills can escalate and how catastrophic car accidents can be.
We appreciate our client trusting us to handle her case and are very happy we were able to obtain such a favorable result for her. We are glad her family had the wisdom to carry Uninsured / Underinsured Coverage, because it allowed us to recover an additional $100,000 for her.
