Community Involvement

We love our community in Central Illinois and strive to give back in a variety of ways. Our firm’s past and present community involvement is detailed below.

If you have suggestions or of ways we can give and make our community stronger, please contact us today.

Sullivan Rohrscheib Educational Theater

Sullivan Rohrscheib was born June 30, 2020, with a very serious heart defect. He passed away shortly after birth, spending almost his entire life in the loving arms of his parents, Josh Rohrscheib and Ciarra Kent. With support from family and friends, Josh and Ciarra have funded a new outdoor education theater at Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington, in memory of Sullivan. The theater should be completed in 2021.

Mary Rohrscheib Teaching Scholarship

The Mary Rohrscheib Scholarship is offered in loving memory of Josh’s grandmother, who was an elementary school teacher in Central Illinois. The scholarship is offered to celebrate great teachers in Central Illinois and to encourage our next generation of teachers. For more information, visit our scholarship page. Bike Rodeo at the Day of Play

We are excited to partner with the Children’s Discovery Museum of Normal, IL, to help give away free helmets at the Bike Rodeo event during the Day of Play! The Day of Play is completely free to attend and encourages kids to get outside and be active. Click here to learn more about the Day of Play and our contribution!

Top-Tier Teacher Nomination

Teachers are some of the most valuable, hardworking members of our community. Through the Top-Tier Teacher Nomination, we want to help reward teachers who have gone above and beyond in their careers to make a difference in their students’ lives. The Top-Tier Teacher Nomination will provide one deserving teacher with a cash prize to help improve their classroom however they choose. Click here to learn more!

Coats for Sheridan Elementary

For the last few years, we have given winter coats to the children of Sheridan Elementary School in Bloomington. Josh started this tradition in memory of his Aunt Brenda, who was a source of much love, encouragement, and generosity in Josh’s life. She always watched for the kids who came to school without a coat when it got colder. She remembered them, shopped for them, and discreetly pulled countless kids aside to give them winter coats. In 2020, we provided more than 100 coats for kids in need. We hope to continue this tradition for years to come. To learn more, click here.

Honoring Local Nurses

To celebrate National Nurses Week, we asked community members to nominate nurses to receive a $100 gift card, as a thank you for the courage and bravery they have shown on the front lines of the coronavirus crisis. Each day, we selected a nominee to receive a $100 gift card. We hope to continue this tradition in future years.

Local Board Service

Josh currently serves on the Board of Directors of the McLean County Museum of History.

He previously served on the Boards of Decatur Area Arts Council, Decatur Public Library Foundation, the Decatur Celebration, and the Macon County Young Philanthropists’ Giving Circle, and as President of the Decatur Chess Club.

His service was recognized when he was named to the Central Illinois Business Journal’s list of 20 People Under 40 Who Make a Difference in Central Illinois.
