Prior to joining BRE Law, Josh served as an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of a global law firm, as General Counsel of a mid-sized trucking company, and practiced with other firms in the Decatur area, including his own.
After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, Josh served as a policy staffer in the Illinois General Assembly. He attended the University of Illinois College of Law where he earned Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, and served as an Associate Editor of the University of Illinois Law Review. At the U of I, he was elected Student Body President and created the Legacy of Service Scholarship, which provides hundreds of students with scholarships for each year that they participate in community service.
Josh represents plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes litigation. He is a general practitioner who provides comprehensive legal services. He focuses on serious personal injury cases, business law, and estate planning.
Josh is very active in the community. Josh serves on the Board of the Directors of the Decatur Area Arts Council, the Decatur Public Library Foundation, and the Decatur Celebration. He previously served on the Steering Committee of the Young Philanthropists’ Giving Circle. His service was recognized when he was named to the Central Illinois Business Journal’s list of 20 People Under 40 Who Make a Difference in Central Illinois. In 2014, he was nominated for the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Josh is admitted to practice in Illinois (2006), the District of Columbia (2008) (inactive), and the District Court for the Central District of Illinois (2009).
